The second edition of my new book
"Devangalurangunna Kanjirakolli" is getting ready to be
released by the next week this month. The first edition was released at Manikadavu on 23rd
Feb.2015 by the honorable chief minister of Kerala, Sri Ummen Chandy giving the
first copy to Kerala State Cultural Affairs Minister Sri KC Joseph.
Prepared as a travelogue, the first
part of the book deals with the history of the Kerala and Karnataka villages
surrounding the Kanjirakolly Hills in western ghats from prehistoric period to
the dawn of modern era. It elaborates the primitive tribal period, feudal age,
the gods of the land, the cultural and religious relationship between Coorge
and the nearby Kerala Villages etc. The second part introduces the tourist
spots of Kanjirakolli and myths related to them.
